  • This abstract was presented as a poster at the 2009 annual meeting of the American Urological Association (AUA) in Chicago, USA
  • This study demonstrates the feasibility of the Prostate CAncer gene 3 (PCA3) Assay in a community-based screening setting
  • PCA3 Assays were utilised in 349, 311 and 209 men during the Prostate Cancer Awareness Week (PCAW) in Colorado, Denver, USA from 2006-2008 by a varied group of clinicians
  • The PCA3 Assay was very robust with informative rates of 98.6%, 96.9% and 99.5% from 2006-2008, respectively
  • It was concluded that the PCA3 Assay is acceptable to patients, can be performed in a busy screening setting and minimally disrupts the clinic flow. The excellent informative rate, even with varied clinical staff performing the attentive digital rectal examination (DRE), shows the robustness of this test
