For several years, Medi-Lab has provided a routine service using GEN-PROBE^® molecular biology procedures therefore, due to this extensive experience; the addition of the new PROGENSA^® urine PCA3 Assay to Medi-Lab’s test repertoire was the next logical step.

PCA3 Service:

The urine PCA3 test, sample collection kits and IATA compliant packaging may be requested by contacting our central laboratory on 0161 877 6336 or ordered directly via our web site

Patients may visit our Healthcare Commission Registered Clinic, Acumen Medical Services, by appointment, for the Digital Rectal Examination (DRE) and subsequent urine collection.

Our central laboratory and medical clinic are situated in Salford Quays, Manchester close to the major motorway and railway networks and about 20 minutes from Manchester International Airport.

Medi-Lab is additionally able to arrange the DRE and sample collection at many other locations throughout the UK.

Medi-Lab’s accreditations include CPA Accreditation, BS EN ISO9001:2000 Accreditation, UKAS Quality Management Registration and a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) statement of compliance. Our medical clinic, Acumen Medical Services, is Healthcare Commission and NATHNAC registered.
The urine PCA3 assay is performed at Medi-Lab by staff that have undertaken a bespoke Genprobe training programme and awarded proficiency status.
