NovioGendix® laboratory services in molecular diagnostics
NovioGendix offers state of the art molecular diagnostics for the detection and management of cancer. NovioGendix is specialized in molecular diagnostics and delivers services to physicians, clinics, hospitals and other laboratories, internationally.
NovioGendix® is acronym of Noviomagum (Latin for Nijmegen) Gene based molecular diagnostics(dix).
NovioGendix was the first European laboratory with providing the Progensa PCA3 test for the diagnosis of prostate cancer and has a close collaboration with the Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
Winning the battle against cancer will require an accurate and timely diagnosis at every stage of the cycle of cancer management. With delivering molecular diagnostic tests and performing research for the discovery of new markers and development of new tests we want to contribute to this goal.
NovioGendix has two business units:
• NovioGendix Servicelab B.V. and
• NovioGendix Research B.V.
Servicelab
Founded in 2006, NovioGendix offers Molecular Diagnostics Services through its accreditated laboratory (CCKL, the Netherlands).
The first molecular diagnostic PCA3 test is now available with full CE Mark.
Our lab services urologists and laboratories worldwide. We supply transport media in which urine samples can be maintained under ambient conditions and we assist in starting up services locally. For inquires, both from urologists, clinics and laboratories, please contact us. We provide a guaranteed short Turn Around Time and provide our clients with well documented test results.
Our help desk will provide you with information about PCA3, Urine Specimen Transport Kits, instruction and assistance in clinical interpretation. For further information contact Pim Peelen at Tel. +31 24 3610505 or Harry Rentrop at +31 6 52646070.
You can find more information about PCA3 on our website www.noviogendix.nl
Research
The discovery of the PCA3 Gen originated from the research performed by Bussemakers and Isaacs. The Further development of PCA3 was performed in the laboratories of Prof. Jack A. Schalken, Dr. Marion Bussemakers’ supervising professor at University Hospital, Nijmegen, the Netherlands. NovioGendix has a close collaboration with the research group of Schalken. Among the important contributions from Nijmegen were the first clinical demonstration of the specificity of PCA3, its measurability in urine, and the importance of denoting PCA3 expression. Further research is continuing.
NovioGendix plans to expand its research portfolio for the discovery of new and better markers for the diagnosis of prostate, bladder and kidney cancers. In addition to its own research, the Company collaborates with Academic Research Centres and specialized companies that bring the tests to the clinic.
