Glossary » TNM (tumour, nodes, metastases) classification system
The most widely used form of staging. TNM stands for Tumour Nodes Metastases. The TNM staging system describes the stage/extent of the primary tumor (T), whether or not the tumour has spread to nearby lymph nodes (N), and whether or not the tumour has spread / metastasised (M) to distant organs (e.g. bones, liver and lungs).
